Vancouver, June 3, 2013 Citizenship and Immigration Canada has issued a Call for Proposals
to organisations which can provide Assimilations and Settlement services to Newcomers in
the province of British Columbia. ““The Government of Canada is committed to helping
newcomers integrate into and fully contribute to our economy and communities quickly,”
the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Hon. Jason Kenney stated today.
This step is part of ongoing measures by the Government to improve services and directly address needs of Newcomers to Canada. The funding is intended to help integration programs such as language training, career counseling and community networking, help with jobs that match Newcomers skills and education, and other general information.
The Government aims to increase funding to over 100million in 2013-14 in British Columbia and over $600 million in Canada (except Quebec). The deadline for applications is July 8, 2013. Full Release here.
